DISTRIBUTION OF PROCEEDS
Most of Next-To-New’s proceeds are used to support LOCAL charities and to restore the 150-year old St. David’s historic sanctuary in the heart of downtown Austin. Some proceeds are set aside for Next-To-New’s building fund, to ensure continued growth and to improved service to Next-To-New’s customers.

DISTRIBUTIONS TO LOCAL CHARITIES
A significant portion of Next-To-New’s proceeds are donated to organizations which minister to disabled persons, medically fragile children, the homeless, the elderly, the working poor, victims of neglect and abuse, babies and children with HIV/AIDS, the terminally ill, cancer victims, and the hungry. To be eligible for funding, potential recipients of Next-To-New’s proceeds submit proposals to the Allocations Committee of St. David’s Episcopal Church. For additional information, click here. (The Allocations Committee recommends to St. David’s vestry certain projects for funding. St. David’s vestry votes to accept or modify the recommendations of the Allocations Committee.) In 2003, for example, these local charities received funding from proceeds generated through sales at Next-To-New:

DISTRIBUTIONS TO HISTORIC RESTORATION
St. David’s Episcopal Church is located at 7th and San Jacinto Streets in Downtown Austin. The Church’s sanctuary is an historic treasure with stained-glass windows, high ceilings and a large pipe organ. It has been in constant service since 1854. A portion of Next-To-New’s proceeds is dedicated to the ongoing restoration of this historic sanctuary.

NEXT-TO-NEW’S BUILDING FUND
Next-To-New’s Board of Directors is working toward the purchase or construction of an owned retail space for the ministry. A Building Fund Campaign is currently under way. An owned property will better enable the Shop to fulfill its mission. For information about the efforts of the Board of Director’s Building Committee, contact Martha Shepperd at 512-413-6890.
